I paid three 99 and felt the price was too high. Amazon needs to give us a page count or file size at least to judge the value before purchase.

This book is a little off topic for me but the quirky description caught my eye. Characters were likeable but there was not enough time to develop them or the story. A lot of good scifi elements were here, combat armor, space travel, advanced powers etc. A pretty lightly written bookette with no real drama or emotion. No real conflict or suspense. No time for it.

This reads like a superhero justice league type setup. A collection of people with superpowers in a space setting. I just went as deep as this book does.

A price of 99 or one 99 at most and the label of a novella is needed. I thought I was getting a bargain priced full book when I bought this. I wont go any farther with this author or series.

Tricia Williams is changing jobs from being a mediator to a Sector Guard. Her current employer doesn't know what to do with her now that they helped her open up her gift of tranquilizing anyone around her. Since her gift was opened up, Tricia has spent a lot of time alone so that she wouldn't put those around her into a zone affect. However, now the Sector Guard is accepting her and they have just the person to be her partner - Guardian. Guardian meets his new partner and finds that they actually met long ago when she mediated his contract with the Guard. She is one female that Guardian really wants to get much closer to. With the help of technology from the Guard, Tricia (now Pax) can begin to do her new job - a combo of her old and new skills, and most importantly get to know Guardian much better. Keeping the calm might be her job but lighting her partner's fuse is now her passion.

When you put people into a zone, who can have you around? Pax learns that in Guarding Pax. Of all the gifts you could get, I think that Pax's is one of the hardest to live with. I had to smile when Guardian proved that he could more than handle anything Pax dished, out and served up hot passion on top of it. I could see where Pax might become everyone's favorite babysitter. I really loved where even though Guardian wanted to protect Pax, as the leader he knew she was a great asset to the Sector and would have to find a way to have both. I foresee a fun and loving future for both Pax and Guardian. Guarding Pax proves that even the most level headed and calmest people can flair up in hot passion.

Tricia or Pax has not a had a good time of it after leaving her Terran planet. She emits a particle or pheromone that calms and relaxes others. She has no control over her talent until she meets up with her new partner Martuas of Guardian, the Commander at the Udell Guard Base for the second time. They meet up again at the Morganti base and we get to be with Fixer once again, who creates not just a suit for her to wear but also an armored suit for missions to keep her safe and allow her to control when to use her talent. She has been lonely because no one else knew what to do with her talent so they kept her isolated or in a containment bubble with no interaction. Guardian is impervious to her talent so they make the perfect partners and mates. The attraction is mutual and there goes the heat factor up a couple notches. I love that Fixer is featured heavily in this story for she has been one of my favorite characters and I just love her twins, especially when she wants to test out Pax's talent on her twins to calm them down. It was very funny. Pax just loved being able to be around people and to actually physically feel things once again. This story reminded me of the movie, "The Boy In The Bubble."
So many Terran females with talent, and so many alien males. The search is on for the mate of their hearts. Loads of fun.
